Keep the investigation understandable
The report records the relevant findings and work from the agreed instruction. Read it alongside the property history, areas that could be accessed and any limitations explained during the visit. A test result or photograph is most useful when its context is understood.
Ask about the next steps
Make sure you understand the source identified, the plumbing repair completed and the suitable checks carried out. The report may also help you explain remaining drying or reinstatement needs to another contractor, although those works are separate from the plumbing package.
If an insurer is involved
Ask your insurer about prior approval and reporting requirements before instructing work. Keep the report with the relevant photographs, invoices and correspondence. We do not determine policy cover or promise that submitting a report will result in reimbursement.
