Understand the problem
Cold-water feeds can run beneath floors and behind fitted furniture long before reaching a visible outlet. A slow escape may show as damp rather than a clear flow. The investigation looks at the supply arrangement and the parts of the property affected.
Divide the system into useful sections
Where the layout allows, suitable isolation helps separate incoming supply losses from internal distribution. Listening, moisture checks or tracer testing may then support the investigation. The repair plan follows the combined evidence and the available access.
What to prepare
Tell us which fixtures or rooms are affected and whether the water meter changes when ordinary use has stopped. Previous plumbing alterations and supplier checks are useful background.
Scope matters
Meter movement can also reflect legitimate automatic water use or a running fixture. The result needs to be interpreted in context, rather than used as proof of a hidden leak.
Detection through to the plumbing repair
For agreed residential work, the £1,345 package connects specialist investigation with the plumbing repair. It includes detection and tracing, necessary access or excavation, parts and materials, suitable post-repair testing and a Trace & Access report. A 12-month workmanship warranty applies to the repair.
The £100 booking deposit is deducted from the total, leaving £1,245. Applicable tax is included. Decorative and remedial reinstatement, including restoring floors, plaster, paving and other finishes, is excluded. Commercial work is quoted separately. Read the complete package scope before arranging a visit.
Choosing the right method
One method that may be considered is acoustic leak detection. Compare sounds that may be associated with escaping pressurised water. The engineer selects the approach for the actual installation; no specific instrument is promised for every visit.
