Hidden water leaks. Clearly resolved.Coverage across eight regions

The evidence behind the investigation

Controlled water-path checks

Examine how water use relates to intermittent fitting and bathroom leaks.

What the method does

Some leaks only appear when a particular fitting is used. A carefully selected check can help distinguish a supply connection, waste route or surface-water path. The method depends on the materials and the risk of adding water to an already damaged area.

Change one condition at a time

The aim is to connect an observation to a defined source or activity. Where appropriate, a suitable tracing dye may help distinguish a water path. The engineer considers staining risk, access and the limitations of the test before using it. A result applies to the conditions actually checked.

Where it may be useful

  • Intermittent bathroom and shower symptoms
  • Accessible fitting-related leaks
  • Comparing possible paths into an affected ceiling

What it cannot establish on its own

Water-path checks are not a substitute for a specialist roof, waterproofing or drain survey where that is what the evidence requires.

Before the visit

Describe the usual sequence of events without deliberately recreating damage. Photographs showing the first area to become wet can be particularly useful.

An investigation, not an equipment checklist

The most useful method is the one that answers the next question about your plumbing. A visit may combine observations and tests, or find that another specialist is needed. We explain the findings and proposed access before the agreed repair. Our package is defined by its scope, not by using every instrument.
