WE FIND LEAKS · 2 MIN READ
The gauge does not locate the fault
A sealed heating system may lose water at a visible radiator connection, in concealed pipework or through a fault associated with the boiler. Repeatedly adding water can keep the symptom going without explaining it. Pressure behaviour also changes as the system heats and cools.
Get the right part of the system checked
An appropriately qualified heating engineer can assess boiler-related causes. If those checks point towards concealed pipework, a focused leak investigation may follow. Share the earlier findings so the next contractor knows what was tested and what is still unknown. Worcester Bosch advises contacting the installer when repressurising is needed much more frequently than normal.
Keep a consistent account
Note readings under similar conditions, dates of top-ups and whether any rooms show damp. Follow the instructions for your own appliance; there is no universal pressure-setting procedure that applies to every system. Do not remove the boiler casing or repeatedly force a failing system to run.
Keep these points in mind
- Record the pattern rather than one reading
- Keep heating-engineer findings
- Mention wet underfloor heating or multiple zones

This guide provides general preparation information. The right investigation depends on the property, its systems and the evidence available. For active flooding, electrical danger or an unsafe ceiling, seek urgent appropriate help rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
