Heating

Underfloor heating losing pressure

Why loops, manifolds and floor construction matter to the investigation.

WE FIND LEAKS · 2 MIN READ

A cold room is not automatically a leaking loop

Controls, balancing and circulation can all affect warmth. Pressure loss or moisture changes the question, but the installation still needs to be considered as a connected system. Identifying the manifold and loop arrangement helps decide what can be assessed independently.

Plans can reduce uncertainty

Loop labels, installation drawings and photographs taken before the floor was covered can help relate a test result to a room. Where appropriate, a suspect section can be examined using suitable testing and further detection methods. Thermal patterns may show heat distribution without proving where water escapes.

Consider the access work

Repairing a loop beneath a solid floor may require an opening through several layers. Discuss the likely finish and construction consequences before work. Our agreed plumbing package covers necessary access and repair; rebuilding finishes and other remedial reinstatement are separate.

Keep these points in mind

  • Keep the manifold accessible
  • Find existing loop labels or drawings
  • Mention recent floor drilling or fixings

This guide provides general preparation information. The right investigation depends on the property, its systems and the evidence available. For active flooding, electrical danger or an unsafe ceiling, seek urgent appropriate help rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
