What this can mean
A plumbing leak is one possible cause of a damp wall. Condensation, rain penetration and moisture within the building can produce similar appearances. The room layout, nearby pipes and the timing of the change help decide which investigation is appropriate.
Useful observations
Take dated photographs and note whether the patch changes after bathing, heating use or rain. Include the opposite side of the wall if it is accessible.
Before taking anything apart
Do not cover the evidence with new decoration or assume that the nearest pipe is responsible. Avoid disturbing suspect materials.
How to choose the next step
You can start with the symptoms without diagnosing the pipe. Our hidden water leak detection page explains the kind of investigation that may be appropriate. Describe what has changed and share any previous findings so the agreed scope addresses the unresolved problem.
Planning a residential visit
For agreed residential work, the £1,345 package connects specialist investigation with the plumbing repair. It includes detection and tracing, necessary access or excavation, parts and materials, suitable post-repair testing and a Trace & Access report. A 12-month workmanship warranty applies to the repair.
The £100 booking deposit is deducted from the total, leaving £1,245. Applicable tax is included. Decorative and remedial reinstatement, including restoring floors, plaster, paving and other finishes, is excluded. Commercial work is quoted separately. Read the complete package scope before arranging a visit.
