What this can mean
Decoration may temporarily hide staining while moisture remains or the source continues. It is also possible for material to remain damp after the leak has stopped. Distinguishing ongoing water loss from residual moisture informs the next step.
Useful observations
Explain when the original leak was repaired, what was replaced and how the surface changed afterwards. A repair report and dated photographs are valuable.
Before taking anything apart
Avoid repeated redecorating before the source and drying needs are understood. Detection and drying assessment answer different questions.
How to choose the next step
You can start with the symptoms without diagnosing the pipe. Our hidden water leak detection page explains the kind of investigation that may be appropriate. Describe what has changed and share any previous findings so the agreed scope addresses the unresolved problem.
Planning a residential visit
For agreed residential work, the £1,345 package connects specialist investigation with the plumbing repair. It includes detection and tracing, necessary access or excavation, parts and materials, suitable post-repair testing and a Trace & Access report. A 12-month workmanship warranty applies to the repair.
The £100 booking deposit is deducted from the total, leaving £1,245. Applicable tax is included. Decorative and remedial reinstatement, including restoring floors, plaster, paving and other finishes, is excluded. Commercial work is quoted separately. Read the complete package scope before arranging a visit.
